Turtles, love to sun themselves and dry out their shells, it’s a requirement for them, so I made a turtle ramp out of pine 1 x 12. The ramp provides a way for the turtles to climb up and onto the pier. For some reason the turtles like to climb up the ramp and stop at the top, blocking the ramp for the next turtle, who needs to climb over the obstacle. Watching the turtle traffic jam is a hoot. When gawker boats pass, the turtles dive back into the water. In late summer the dive can be 1 to 2 feet.
Crazy fact: Turtles are alliterative, with names like Timothy, Tabitha, Tom, Theresa and Tina.
